FAQ's

WHAT IS AN ADU?

Accessory dwelling units (ADUs) — also referred to as accessory apartments, second units, or granny flats — are additional living quarters on single-family lots that are independent of the primary dwelling unit.

WHAT ARE THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR DIMENSIONS?

We work with two types of containers: a 20 ft and a 40 ft shipping container. The 20 foot container is 40’ by 8’ and is 19.3 ft x 8.8 ft x 7.7 ft. The 40 foot container is 40’ by 8’ and is 39.5 ft x 8.8ft x 7.7 ft.

HOW MUCH WILL MY PROJECT COST?

Each project varies from client to client. We do have set prices for our 20 foot and 40 foot container which can be found in our downloadable ADU Guide. However, prices can fluctuate depending on the types of customization and additional details that the customer desires.

HOW QUICKLY CAN WE START CONSTRUCTION?

Everyone’s project and property are different. The project’s start date depends on the details of the project and how it needs to be executed. Once the permits are processed during the pre-construction phase we can determine a start date.

WHO HANDLES THE PERMITTING?

Throughout the entire process your project manager will be with you for every step of the way. He will be able to submit your permits to DCRA and will be able to keep track of the approval status as well.

DO YOU REQUIRE A DOWN PAYMENT?

A 35% retainer fee of the total project is required in order to start the process of floor plans, shop drawings, and permitting.
